Neil Schnell (Velvet Love Box) entertains bar divers at Tanstaafl Pub every Thursday night with his curated list of covers. Tanstaafl’s Questionable Action Thursday includes a three-hour set from Schnell, drink specials, and free pool to boot.

Schnell covers everything from Paul Simon to Wilco. He sings with such passion that it transforms the hits you’re familiar with, and interests you in the deep cuts he sprinkles in. Schnell takes requests—and if he knows the song he’ll play it!

It’s inspiring to see someone lift their voice like Neil does. His powerful tenor/baritone is dialed in perfectly, and the clarity of the guitar makes you think you’re listening to an Unplugged compilation you’ve never heard before.

Schnell’s residency is a long-standing local treasure. Here’s to many more questionable actions!
