Many Words Can Sometimes Blind

Denton, TX – 2012

The contagion of the western world
And all the tongues that lay unfurled
Find creatures waiting in the night
To give their mortal recluse fright
And in the penitent nature say
To those who’ve come and gone away
Their dear lives take and do not give
To any soul it’s recompense
For in the beautiest night allowed
Will cheer a chant, but have no crowd
And dying comes as dying goes
But in this moment lives a ghost

One from many, two, and young
The sky shares plenty hearts unwrung
And man to man his fable grows
As in the rain, where no one knows,
But if the night not friend it be
Then find a simple melody
One to take, and one to give
The strength of man where man not be
A tiny whisper comes to mind
As many words can sometimes blind
But fruitful faces will arise
When no exceptions back their lies
